Forest Practices News May 2026
The May 2026 issue of Forest Practices News is now available on the FPA's website.
The 24 pages of FPN May 2026 are packed with:
- FPA updates, including news about staff changes at the FPA. We recently bade farewell to Peter McIntosh, Earth Sciences and Cultural Heritage Manager, and Jason Wiersma, the FPA’s raptor specialist, who between them have almost half a century of service with the FPA.
- News from the forest: there are 9 articles from participants on the FPO Training Course. Emily Gee’s article, Voices from the Forest: What Foresters Want the Public to Know, presents first-hand perspectives from foresters, highlighting what they want the public to understand about their role in forest management and conservation. Other articles in this issue continue the theme, with stories on becoming an FPO, conducting research on tree fern management, improvements to planning and supporting better forest management practices.
